Business Analyst, SCM Systems, ONSITE, Fremont CA

About the role

The Business Analyst gathers data and manages information flows in Supply Chain Management (SCM) relevant business systems. The individual leverages expertise and industry best practices to implement solutions primarily in the planning and administration of master data, seek continuous improvement opportunities in SAP functionality and production support, and engage in new SAP implementations and enhancements.

As part of Boehringer Ingelheim, you will contribute to the discovery, development, and delivery of products to patients and customers, collaborating internationally to support the company’s success.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support digital solutions in a biopharmaceutical operational environment, including processes in manufacturing, process development, supply chain, and quality.
• Develop project plans for adoption of digital solutions, including business process analysis, system documentation, validation, project management, and process data visualization.
• SCM Key User:
  • Ensure and optimize SCM-relevant processes (including production) in SAP SCM and Master Data modules.
  • Provide first-level support for IT-supported processes and modules for SCM and production users.
  • Support go-live of SAP enhancements.
  • Handle qualification and validation activities, including audit trail management per standard operating procedures.
  • Assess and monitor roles defined for SCM modules and processes.
  • Collaborate with second-level support, global and local IS functions, production, and quality teams.
  • Maintain CAPAs (corrective/preventative actions) and change requests for SCM-related system enhancements.
  • Monitor and manage accurate master data-related processes.
• Key user for Business Analyst SharePoint sites:
  • Collect and evaluate demands and requirements for SharePoint sites.
  • Create and maintain required documents, including training documentation.
  • Organize and conduct trainings for SharePoint users and admins.
  • Provide ongoing support for defined BA SharePoint sites.

Requirements

• Ability to work independently with cross-functional teams to implement and support ERP solutions and business process improvements.
• Combine ERP knowledge with business process expertise to advance business objectives.
• Desired experience with MES, LIMS, SAP, Lab Automation, or other production systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office (including Teams and SharePoint), database systems/SQL, and basic programming skills.
• Basic data skills (e.g., database systems, SQL) and willingness to learn tools like Power BI, Tableau, SAP I, R, SAS, or Simca.
• Experience in the biopharmaceutical industry preferred.
• Basic project management skills.
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Associate degree in an IT-related field, Math, or Science with a minimum of 3 years of experience managing computer system implementations and support in a complex business environment, OR Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience, OR Master’s degree plus 1 year of experience.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $122,000. The role may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus, relocation assistance, or other compensation elements. Salary adjustments may occur based on market data and job-related factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications.
