Business Analyst – Pricing Systems (Capital Markets)

About the role

Business Analyst needed for Pricing Systems in Capital Markets, based in Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for pricing and valuation systems.
• Work with traders, portfolio managers, risk teams, operations, and technology teams to define system enhancements.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories.
• Support the implementation and testing of pricing models and valuation workflows.
• Perform gap analysis, impact analysis, and process mapping.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate system changes.
• Investigate production issues and work with development teams to resolve them.
• Ensure pricing data quality and compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
• Prepare reports, documentation, and stakeholder presentations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of Business Analyst experience in Capital Markets.
• Strong understanding of pricing and valuation concepts for financial instruments.
• Knowledge of fixed income, equities, derivatives, or structured products.
• Experience writing business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
• SQL for data analysis and validation.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of market data providers such as Bloomberg or Refinitiv.
• Experience with pricing engines and valuation platforms.
• Familiarity with risk management concepts.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Excel.
• Basic understanding of APIs and system integrations.
