Business Analyst (Payments)

Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with 10+ years of overall IT experience to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Banking and Payments with hands-on experience in payment modernization, ISO 20022 migration, and AI-driven business analysis initiatives. This is an onsite opportunity requiring a face-to-face interview.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the IT industry.
• Strong domain knowledge of Banking and Payment Systems.
• Hands-on experience with FED Payments, CHIPS, ACH, RTP (Real-Time Payments), SWIFT CBPR+.
• Strong experience in ISO 20022 Migration projects.
• Expertise in MT to MX Conversion, including MT103/pacs.008, MT202/MT202COV/pacs.009.
• Experience gathering business requirements, creating user stories, acceptance criteria, and maintaining product backlogs.
• Strong working knowledge of Agile/Scrum, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience working with Generative AI (GenAI) tools and AI-assisted business analysis.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business users, architects, developers, and QA teams.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to define payment modernization requirements.
• Lead requirement workshops and create detailed user stories and process flows.
• Support ISO 20022/CBPR+ migration initiatives and payment transformation projects.
• Analyze SWIFT MT to MX message conversion requirements and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams throughout the SDLC.
• Manage project artifacts using Jira and Confluence.
• Leverage GenAI tools to improve requirement analysis, documentation, and productivity.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large financial institutions or banking clients.
• Prior experience in payment transformation or financial messaging modernization projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
