About the role
The Texas Education Agency requires the services of 2 Business Analysts to support the agency's mission of improving student outcomes through major enhancements and/or rewrite efforts.
Responsibilities
- Elicitation & Analysis - Analyzes user needs, business processes, pain points, and computer system capabilities to automate or improve existing systems.
- Requirements Writing & Visual Output - Transforms information from elicitation sessions into business and functional requirements, use cases, user stories, software requirements specifications documents, wireframes, and mockups.
- BA Best Practices & Mentorship - Acts as a mentor to peers and colleagues in disseminating best practices and proactively seeking out training opportunities.
- Using TEA Tools Effectively - Uses TEA tools, such as Jira and Modern Requirements, to manage the change control process, participate in the SDLC, and track and communicate requirements status.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience eliciting requirements from interviews with customers and creating well-written system requirements.
- 8+ years of experience with software development life cycles (SDLCs).
- 8+ years of experience with business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement.
- 8+ years of experience developing user stories and use cases that conform to business analysis best practices.
- 8+ years of experience designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices.
- 5+ years of demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills.
- 5+ years of demonstrated strong writing and organization skills.
- Documented experience working for or closely with TEA OR a federal/state/local education agency OR ed vendor.
- 2+ years of documented work experience with the issue tracking software "Atlassian Jira."
- 2+ years of documented work experience with the requirements management software "Modern Requirements."
Skills
