Business Analysis and Planning

About the role

We are hiring a Business Analysis and Planning professional for a client in Tallahassee, FL. This is an 8‑month contract position, preferably for local candidates.

Responsibilities

• Perform business analysis on IT projects.
• Conduct Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions with client stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Design, maintain, and scale custom automated testing frameworks from scratch (e.g., using Page Object Model).
• Design, write, and execute automation test scripts using tools such as Selenium to verify system functionality and find software bugs.
• Generate and update automation scripts to align with UI shifts and new feature deployments.
• Validate REST APIs and microservices using tools like Insomnia or Postman, performing endpoint validation, contract checks, and payload verification.
• Translate functional specifications into technical specifications for programmers.
• Translate business requirements into use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Convert meeting and written information into mock‑ups and process models.
• Create technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with QA teams, coordinate UAT schedules, conduct UAT sessions, and guide business testers through workflows.
• Utilize process model diagram tools such as Microsoft Visio.
• Perform manual testing by authoring test scenarios and executing manual checks against business requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of IT business/industry work experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience performing business analysis on IT projects.
• Minimum 7 years of experience with Agile Software Development methodologies.
• Minimum 7 years of experience with Requirements Gathering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps and/or Team Foundation Server (TFS).
• Minimum 7 years of experience conducting Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions with client stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Minimum 7 years of experience designing, maintaining, and scaling custom automated testing frameworks from scratch (e.g., using Page Object Model).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in automation testing; designing, writing, and executing automation test scripts using a variety of tools (Selenium or similar) to verify system functionality and find software bugs.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in generating automation scripts and updating existing to align with ongoing UI shifts and new feature deployments.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in REST API and Microservices testing; executing endpoint validation, contract checks, and payload verification using Insomnia or similar API tools.
• Proficiency in testing and validating REST APIs using tools like Postman, Insomnia, or other API testing tools.
• Minimum 7 years of experience translating functional specification into technical specification from which programmers can construct the solution.
• Minimum 7 years of experience translating business requirements into use cases/user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in translating the information from meetings and written materials into mock‑ups, process models.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in creating technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in collaborating with QA teams, coordinating UAT schedules, conducting UAT sessions, and guiding business testers through the workflows.
• Minimum 7 years of experience with process model diagram tools, such as but not limited to Microsoft Visio.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in manual testing; validate system functionality by authoring test scenarios and executing manual checks against business requirements.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in automation testing; designing, writing, and executing automation test scripts to verify system functionality and finding software bugs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or another related field or equivalent work experience.
