Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one advising to startup and existing small businesses.
- Advise clients with basic business startup requirements, legal entities, licensing, taxes, marketing, management, basic financial practices, and compliance.
- Support the development and review of business plans, cash flow projections, operational strategies, and financial projections.
- Maintain accurate client documentation in the SBDC client management system.
- Affiliate with planning, coordination, and delivery of SBDC training programs.
- Create graphics to advertise programs on UAH website, social media, and newsletters.
- Develop or adapt training materials using Canva as assigned.
- Present or co-present workshops and seminars.
- Complete required reports, data entry, and program documentation in compliance with SBDC, SBA, state, and host institution requirements.
- Affiliate with scheduling, client intake, and follow-up communications.
- Provide newsletter support as needed.
- Support reporting, performance metrics, and documentation for funded programs.
- Affiliate with special initiatives, pilot programs, or grant-supported activities.
- Participate in meetings and required professional development training.
- Represent the SBDC at community, economic development, and partner events.
- Promote SBDC services to potential clients and partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in small business, consulting, or related roles.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Canva, and client management systems.
