About the role

This bus tire technician position provides a safety-sensitive role in bus maintenance, ensuring the tires are DOT compliant on the city buses that people ride for work, pleasure, and play. Work is performed at customer-designated tire shops alongside customer mechanics, with a focus on ensuring tires are reliable and safe.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with assigned administrators and customer staff to accurately document work performed.
  • Maintain customer tire inventory from cradle to grave using best inventory management practices.
  • Monitor tire maintenance through periodic tire inspections, utilizing specialized software and electronic digital devices.
  • Maintain and repair all customer tires according to industry standards.
  • Perform dynamic tire balancing, tire and wheel assembly changes, regrooving, and inflation maintenance using best-in-class tire machinery.
  • Maintain shop safety and cleanliness through good housekeeping practices.

Requirements

  • Position may require flexibility to work scheduled shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous commercial tire experience is a plus.
  • Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods, including light and heavy lifting (e.g., tires and wheels), standing, bending, and squatting.
  • Commitment to follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter willing to take initiative, work without direct supervision, and attend appropriate training sessions.

Pay
