About the role

The Bus Service & Shelter Attendant (BSSA) assists in automotive maintenance, performs servicing operations, cleans all coach interiors and exteriors, maintains Authority bus stops and shelters, and removes and replaces money vaults in Authority Fixed Route and Paratransit Buses.

Responsibilities

  • Bus hostling and servicing
  • Minor repairs (e.g., bulb changing)
  • Road call-coach change-off
  • Cleaning parts and coaches for inspection
  • Coach interior washing, sweeping, floor cleaning, dusting, and seat cleaning
  • Cleaning and maintaining Authority bus stops, shelters, and shelter pads in the tri-county service area
  • Removing and replacing money vaults in Authority Fixed Route and Connector Buses

Requirements

  • Education equivalent to completion of eight grades in an elementary school (high school preferred)
  • Some experience in minor vehicle repair or maintenance
  • Physical strength and agility to perform duties, including long hours outdoors
  • Mechanical knowledge, aptitude, initiative, and resourcefulness
  • Valid commercial driver’s license with required endorsements and group designation based on vehicle weight
