Bus Mechanical-Electrical Engineer VI

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline and a minimum of five years of experience managing heavy vehicle maintenance projects, including heavy-duty buses, truck/automotive electrical, and electronic control systems. High level of verbal, written, analytical research, and technical problem-solving skills required. Intermediate to advanced computer skills necessary. In lieu of a degree, directly related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced troubleshooting, problem-solving, and failure analysis to determine primary causes of failures in engines, transmissions, and other subsystems of revenue vehicles.
• Develops and administers formal improvements and changes to advanced technical practices in Bus Maintenance.
• Monitors the quality of in-house and vendor engine and component rebuilds.
• Conducts new product testing and performance evaluations.
• Prepares technical specifications for bus-related procurements.
• Reviews and analyzes data from Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) to inform decision-making.
• Monitors, creates, and issues Service Information Bulletins to Bus Maintenance for maintenance practices and campaigns.
• Monitors and adjusts the Preventive Maintenance Program (PM) to maximize productivity and reflect current maintenance challenges.
• Performs other related duties as assigned, including Transit Ambassador assignments.

Pay

Salary range: $71,166–$106,748
