182 days per school year / approximately 4 hours per day
Qualifications
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Must possess a valid commercial driver's license.
- Must possess a valid Mississippi School Bus Driver's certificate.
- Must pass a criminal background check as prescribed by state statute.
- Must possess a valid Class 'B' commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Must possess State of MS Bus Driver's Certification.
- Must pass a regular school bus drivers training course every other year, which is taught by the MS Department of Education.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and not in high school.
- Must attend and pass a Basic First Aid course each year if required.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening, DOT physical, and criminal background check as prescribed by state statute.
