About the role
WeDriveU is the leader in shared mobility solutions that connect communities, campuses, and workplaces. Operating private shuttle and public transit systems across the U.S., WeDriveU serves millions of passenger journeys annually with 5,500+ team members and 4,000 vehicles in 55 U.S. locations. The Coach Operator transports corporate employees between various stops while adhering to safety protocols, schedules, and pre-determined routes.
Responsibilities
- Exceptional attendance and punctuality
- Accurately complete vehicle safety checks and escalate any issues
- Compliance with all traffic laws, and federal and state transit regulations
- Interact with customers, central dispatch team, and managers in a professional manner
- Provide excellent customer service and support to all riders, including answering questions about schedules, routes, transfer points, and delays
- Promptly report vehicle maintenance, road and route concerns, accidents, and other traffic disruptions using two-way radios or hands-free devices
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Clean driving record
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A or B with Airbrake and Passenger endorsements
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug test, and background check
Qualifications
- Hard Requirements: CDL (Class A or B), Airbrake Endorsement, Passenger endorsement, clean driving record, ability to pass DOT physical, drug test, and background check
- Preferred Requirements: High School Diploma/GED, at least 1 year of driving experience
Skills & Physical Demands
- Use route navigation apps and other technology, including knowledge of the area for pick-up and drop-off
- Maintain electronic logs to track routes and incidents
- Ability to safely operate and drive without a break for a minimum of one hour and forty-five minutes
- Ability to drive in fluctuating weather and terrain
- Flexible schedule to work outside of regular days and shifts, including split shifts
- Ability to lift 45 pounds or more to assist with loading and unloading ADA passengers
