Bus Driver - Regular Route

Job Summary

The Newton Community School District seeks a Bus Driver to operate regular routes starting August 2026. The position offers a route base pay of $33.29 per hour and additional hours available for activity trips and extracurricular activities at $21.12 per hour. CDL training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate school buses on established routes
• Ensure student safety and comfort
• Adhere to school schedules and pick-up/drop-off times
• Handle emergency situations as required
• Load and unload students and equipment safely
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Passing background check
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
• Good driving record
• Excellent communication skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience operating school buses preferred
• Knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices
