About the role
Operate a school bus over designated routes in accordance with time schedules, picking up and discharging students; provide safe and efficient transportation for Head Start students to and from the Centers; perform daily inspections and operator maintenance of the vehicle; assist in the loading and unloading of physically and mentally handicapped students as necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Pediatric CPR/First Aid certified at time of hire or achieve certification within 90 days from date of hire
- Good written and oral communication skills, as well as basic math skills
- Ability to maintain schedules while meeting the individual needs of children and families
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License with ‘P’ (Passenger) and ‘S’ (School Bus) Endorsements
- Driving record free of any moving violations within the last three years
- Must be able to lift at least 55 lbs., stoop, kneel, bend, jump, and move without any limitations
