Bus Driver

South Shore Early Education and Care, a program of the South Shore Community Action Council—a private non-profit—seeks a full-time Bus Driver.

Schedule

• 25–30 hours per week
• 52 weeks per year

Pay

• Base hourly rate starts at $27.43/hr. and is commensurate with driving experience

Responsibilities

• Safe transport of children, including those with special needs and disabilities
• Pre- and post-inspection of vehicle daily
• General care-taking of the bus, including fueling and record-keeping
• Actively participate in all required annual trainings
• Coordinate and work with attending Bus Monitors
• Deliver children in a safe, friendly manner according to Federal and State regulations

Requirements

• Valid Massachusetts CDL driver’s license with passenger (P) and school bus (S) endorsements
• Clean driving record
• Must speak and understand English
• Pass DCF/SORI and CORI background checks prior to employment
• Pre-employment and ongoing DOT drug and alcohol screenings (random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion)
