Position Summary
Signal Energy is seeking a Bus Driver to support our solar construction projects. This is a field-based, hands-on role responsible for safely transporting employees to and from parking areas to the onsite work location and assisting with general labor and site support activities when not driving.
Transportation Duties
- Safely operate company buses to transport employees to and from parking areas to the onsite work location
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required documentation
- Maintain clean, safe, and orderly buses
- Follow DOT, company, and site-specific safety requirements
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding schedules, delays, or maintenance needs
General Labor & Site Support
- Affords assistance with survey and layout support
- Material staging and distribution
- Pile and foundation support activities
- Tracker system installation support
- Mechanical assembly and installation assistance
- Electrical and control component support
- Hardware fastening and torquing support
- Quality control and inspection assistance
- Module staging and installation support
- Equipment setup, alignment, and adjustment
- Troubleshooting and rework support
- General construction and production support
Additional Labor Support
- Material handling, loading, unloading, and staging
- Jobsite housekeeping and debris removal
- Aiding crews with tools, parts, and logistics
- Setting up barricades, signage, and pedestrian paths
Skills & Abilities
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance
- Ability to operate a bus in active construction environments
- Able to lift, carry, and move 50+ pounds
- Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Able to follow instructions, procedures, and safety rules
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
Working Conditions
- Working outdoors in various, often extreme weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
- Candidates must be able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits.
- This position may also include exposure to loud noises, dust, debris, and other construction-related hazards.
Education & Experience Requirements
- GED or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of commercial driving or construction site experience preferred
- Valid CDL Class A or B with Passenger Endorsement (required)
- Acceptable driving record per company and DOT standards
