Bus Driver

About the role

The position supports the mission of East Newton Schools, values education, respects student privacy, and ensures confidentiality and security of information. The driver must communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community, providing excellent customer service both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

• Operate a school bus on a daily scheduled bus route from bus stops, home schools (AM), school stops, and home stops (PM) throughout the district.
• Drive shuttles.
• Drive field trips as directed and when needed.
• Maintain a Missouri School Bus Permit, which includes a DOT physical and random drug testing.
• Carry out all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Maintain a Missouri Class “B” License.

Qualifications

• No supervisory responsibilities.
• Reports to: Director of Transportation.
• New bus drivers are assigned on an as needed basis, with opportunity for assignment to regular routes as they become available.
• Term: As needed, with potential for regular route assignments.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to operate a school bus safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of Missouri School Bus Permit requirements.
