About the role
The Bus Driver reports to the Director of the Physical Plant and must demonstrate proficiency in the duties outlined below.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport passengers to and from scheduled locations
- Obey all traffic laws and safety regulations for passenger buses
- Communicate effectively with the maintenance department
- Perform pre-trip inspections on the bus before each route or trip as required
- Complete forms, records, and reports as required
- Clean and service the school bus, including interior sweeping
- Report necessary bus repairs or damage to the maintenance department
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED/HSE
- Minimum of 25 years of age
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License and meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
- Satisfactory driving record that demonstrates a commitment to safety
- At least three years’ experience driving large vehicles (26,001 lbs. or more)
