Bus Driver (4 Hours Per Day)

About the role

To transport students to and from a variety of school sites and to assure their safety as passengers in the school bus, as well as to ensure that the assigned bus is in a safe operating condition at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must have a valid Illinois driver's license for three consecutive years
• Must have a valid and appropriate CDL Driver License with passenger endorsement
• Must have a valid Illinois State School Bus Permit

Requirements

• Must have a valid Illinois driver's license for three consecutive years
• Must have a valid and appropriate CDL Driver License with passenger endorsement
• Must have a valid Illinois State School Bus Permit

Benefits

Pay

• Starting Salary: $21.50
• July 1, 2026 - raise of $1.25 to $22.75 per hour
• July 1, 2027 - raise of $1.25 to $24.00 per hour

Schedule

4 hours per day

Hiring Bonus

• If the newly hired driver is ready to drive a bus with no additional training or licensing, the driver is eligible for a one-time bonus of two thousand dollars ($2,000).
• If the newly hired driver is not licensed and needs training, the driver is eligible for a one-time bonus of one thousand dollars ($1,000).
• The appropriate stipend will be paid in two equal installments.
• The first installment will occur after all training and the probationary period.
• The second installment will be paid on the first pay period after May 31 of the year hired.
