Bus Aide

Bus Aide- Part-Time Transportation 2026-2027 School Year Classified Opening Reports to: Director of Transportation General Summary: The primary job will be to ride the bus and help monitor students. General Responsibilities Assists the bus driver in maintaining good conduct on the bus.Assumes the responsibility of seeing that children remain in their seats.Assures that students get on and off the bus in a safe, orderly fashion.Provides mild supervision over the children who misbehave, reporting serious offenses to bus drive or the child's teacher.Collects and turns over to the school staff those personal items left on the bus by students.Any other duties assigned by the Director of Transportation.Must be physically able to assist or remove students from the bus in case of emergency.Must be able to communicate clearly with teachers, students, administrators and other staff members.Must be able to read and understand written orders and instructions.Assist with Securing special needs students in car seats and protective gear as neededAssist with cleaning inside of busPrepare seating charts for busComplete monthly student recognitionsAssisting bus driver as needed Qualifications Must be able to communicate clearly with teachers, students, administrators and other staff members.Must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the Board of Education Evaluated by: Director of Transportation EEO The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
