Bus Aide

About the role

We are a fast-paced and high-demand non-profit program that depends on everybody in every position to help our centers function with ease. You will gain diverse experience working with an at-risk population. Cross-training is available and expected for all positions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of children while on the bus
• Help children board bus and exit bus safely
• Ensure children are released only to those individuals authorized to receive them
• In the event of an emergency follow safety procedures and execute bus evacuation
• Implement active supervision while providing duties and ensure no child is left unattended on the bus

Qualifications

• Working toward high school diploma or GED required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience working with young children required
• Experience working with at-risk population and/or Head Start experience preferred

The successful candidate will be: compassionate, organized, flexible, a good communicator, a team player

Physical abilities

Must be able to lift 30 pounds independently without assistance

Schedule

25 hours per week, partial year position (approx. 42 weeks)

Pay

$17.32/hour
