Essential Job Duties
- Work as a team with the driver in all duties requested
- Report daily during the regular school session ready to drive any route
- Absorb young or disabled students in getting on and off the bus; assist (not lift) student from wheelchair to seat
- Maintain a safe environment on the bus including keeping the aisles clear, keeping students reasonably quiet, making sure students remain in their seats while bus is in motion, and ensuring that students are not hurting themselves or others around them
- Discipline the students verbally by explaining the rules of safety
- Report discipline problems to the proper personnel
- Absorb students to and from classrooms and school buildings as needed
- Monitor students, letting the driver know if there is an emergency, such as choking, seizures, bleeding, etc.
- Attend all mandatory meetings, trainings and in-services
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required
