Burn Trauma ICU - Registered Nurse

About the Role

Medical City Plano is seeking a Part-Time Nights Registered Nurse for the Burn Trauma ICU. The RN coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers and the care team, serving as an advocate for patients and families. Responsibilities include performing procedures, monitoring, documentation, patient education, and managing evidence-based practices to enhance clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Performs procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
• Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures using clear, non-technical language.
• Educates patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as lifestyle changes, disease prevention, and healthy habits.
• Prepares patients and families for future self-management and recovery.
• Manages evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet quality measures.
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate Degree; BSN required within 24 months of hire.
• 2+ years of experience in area of specialty; burn experience preferred.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
