Burn Injury Prevention and Outreach Coordinator
Job Summary
The Burn Injury Prevention and Outreach Coordinator will work to reduce the burden of injury of diverse populations utilizing evidence-informed programming. The position will prioritize injury prevention work based on trends identified in the burn registry and local epidemiological data, while building partnerships with community organizations supporting injury prevention efforts. The coordinator will also raise the burn center's visibility through engaging media outreach and community burn education, and foster collaborative working relationships within the community for ongoing fire and burn prevention and education. Collaboration with partners in the community and public health agencies, schools, pre-hospital EMS providers, Fire and Police agencies, and other healthcare professionals throughout the region is expected.
About the Role

The coordinator will engage in evidence-based programming, coordinate events, teach, supervise others, and foster collaborative relationships.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- NYS Licensed/Registered (or eligible) RN or NYS certified (or eligible) EMT or Paramedic required.
- A minimum of an Associates degree in a health related field and 4 years of health-related experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a health related field and 2 years of health-related experience required.
- CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment.
Qualifications
- Experience coordinating events, teaching, supervising others, and evidence-based programming preferred.
- Experience with fire and prevention education.
- Master's degree preferred.
