Burmese Interpreter

About the role

We are seeking hard-working, fully-bilingual foreign language interpreters to provide in-person interpretation for our local Nebraska clients. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to use their cultural knowledge to help non-English speakers in their community. We have an immediate need for Burmese interpreters in the Lincoln area.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation for clients in the Lincoln, Nebraska area
• Use cultural knowledge to assist non-English speakers
• Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Use an online portal to print and upload vouchers

Requirements

• Fully bilingual
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Must have transportation to attend local appointments
• Technical skills for learning and using an online portal (printing and uploading vouchers required)
• Must have access to a printer
• Interpreting experience and/or certification preferred
• Pass background checks and drug screens
• Proof of vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions will be considered with appropriate documentation)

Schedule

PRN (as needed), part-time (or less depending on languages spoken). Schedule is flexible based on interpreter's availability and preferences, but applicants must have some availability Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM, as this is when services are typically needed.

This is an independent contractor position with flexible hours. Hours are not guaranteed and are based on availability, languages spoken, and client needs. Please include all languages you speak in your resume.
