Bulk Manager

Overview of Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance, packing, and stocking of all bulk foods
• Follow the merchandising Bulk plan and ensure team members properly package, scale, fill bulk bins, and prepare/wrap/price bulk packages accurately and legibly
• Order and maintain inventory, rotate product using code dates, and follow the company's cleaning and sanitation program
• Oversee department compliance with all company and governmental safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL compliance regulations
• Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
• Provide a high level of customer service
• Ensure Bulk items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, and that the Bulk area is clean and orderly at all times
• Receive, unload, and stock merchandise as needed throughout the day
• Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions; make recommendations on merit increases via the bi-annual performance review process
• Regularly attend and participate in in-store meetings
• Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager
• Confidently exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns
• Take and document corrective actions when needed, including collaboration with business and HR partners in managing performance (coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination)
• Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels
• Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience for customers
• Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have 1–2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment and 1 year of managerial leadership experience
• Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Be expected to know weekly ad items and give customers direction of product location throughout the store
• Perform general housekeeping in the department
• Possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals
• Have and show outgoing, friendly behavior along with a positive attitude toward Team Members and customers
• Be able to move vertically/horizontally transferring product weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4" to 36", for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance
• This role requires continuous standing for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift
• Be able to perform other related duties as assigned

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.50 – $29.15 / hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
