About the role
This role will give you the opportunity to:
- Ensure project compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Create and maintain project schedules for mid-size to large projects.
- Manage project team’s scope, schedule, budget and quality on assigned projects.
- Aid in the production of HVAC and plumbing system deliverables (Specifications, drawings, calculations, and basis of design documents) for new buildings as well as for renovation and additions to existing facilities.
- Actively coordinate with other disciplines, clients, and contractors on projects.
- Actively mentor / share knowledge with other staff members.
- Oversee the creation and analysis of project energy modeling and life cycle cost analysis utilizing Trace 3D and BLCC.
- Oversee creation of 2D drawings (such as P&IDS, control diagrams, and notes) in REVIT.
- Perform construction period services (review of submits, responses to RFI’s etc).
- Present in front of large groups that include clients, peers, contractors, and end user groups.

- The primary areas of focus are: Architecture/Engineering (A/E) Services, Defense Program, Design/Build, Classified, and Environmental.
Requirements
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Assigned to projects for U.S. Government Agency/Department clients.
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from an accredited program.
- Knowledge of building mechanical codes and ability to perform accurate load calculations.
- Strong HVAC / Plumbing design capability in industrial, commercial, central plants, boilers, chillers and other related markets.
- Knowledgeable in sustainable design.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing or equivalent experience in engineering work.
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience.

- Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary.

Pay
- $137,916 - $230,328 per year in Virginia.
Schedule
This position would require working in a typical office environment. The position may entail prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, and the professional would ideally be able to maintain focus and attention to detail throughout the workday. The position may also be require physical tasks during site visits, including crouching, grasping, and standing/walking for extended periods of time.
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
