Responsibilities
- Maintains building automation systems, alarms, and responds to trouble calls.
- Assesses and decides on the best course of action for equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
- Documents and communicates daily building system problems.
- Notifies appropriate administration and trades staff of potential operational issues.
- Takes daily readings of major equipment and documents for inspection.
Requirements
- Eighteen (18) months of verified, hands-on maintenance and repair experience in HVAC-R, Building Automation Systems, Plumbing, Emergency Power Supply Systems, Electrical Systems, or Fire Alarm & Suppression Systems.
- Knowledge of Atkinson or Metasys Building Automation Systems (preferred).
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems (preferred).
- Valid, State of Utah Driver's License (may be required depending on department).

- Demonstrated knowledge of the 2012 version of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code.
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer functions.
- Demonstrated, strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to perform independently or in a group setting.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to follow specific directions.
- Ability to cooperate with other shop craftsman and staff.
- Ability to make repairs or call on required trades as needed.
- Ability to be on call 24/7 and responsible for employees and facilities day and night.
- Ability to perform rotating shifts.
- Time management skills and ability to prioritize work.
- Self-motivation and detail orientation.
- Organized and capable of multi-tasking, problem-solving, and prioritizing workloads.
