About the role
The Building Substitute teacher will take over classroom instructional duties and specialist classes. They may also provide instructional support for students with disabilities as outlined in their IEP.
Responsibilities
- Take over classroom instructional duties
- Provide instructional support for students with disabilities as per their IEP
- Develop some lessons
- Work in a team teaching environment
- Keep appropriate classroom records
- Create a safe, nurturing environment for students
- Establish clear expectations for behavior and learning
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher required
- Teaching experience in an urban setting with multicultural student populations
- Good collaborative skills for working with collaborating teachers, staff, and parents
