Building substitute position available in all school buildings on a daily, as-assigned basis for a 150-day term during the school year. Elementary schedule: 8:15 a.m. – 3:35 p.m. Secondary schedule: 7:15 a.m. – 2:35 p.m.
About the role
The 150-Day Assigned Substitute will provide classroom coverage when teachers are absent, ensuring continuity of instruction and student supervision. Substitutes are considered employees-at-will, and the District Administration may delete substitutes from the approved list at any time, for any reason.
Pay
$233.00 per day. Teacher Substitutes (Assigned Daily 150-Day Term) who work 10 or more days in any month may elect individual medical coverage in the district’s group health plan at the district’s expense.
Responsibilities
- Follow lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, respectful learning environment
- Take attendance and maintain records as required
- Assist in classrooms, media center, cafeteria, hallways, or office as needed
- Supervise students during passing time, lunch, or other unstructured times as assigned
- Commitment to regular and predictable attendance

Requirements
- Valid teaching certificate, which can include a Guest Teacher Emergency Certificate, Type 06 – No educational obligation
- Must be able to pass a background check with no criminal history

Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk
- Occasionally kneel, squat, and stoop while interacting with students
- Use hands to handle, control, grasp, move, and feel documents and office equipment
- Occasionally reach above head and shoulder level
- Occasionally carry, lift, and move up to 25 pounds
Work Environment
- Noise level is usually moderate to loud
- May be required to be outdoors for short periods, subject to varying weather conditions
