Building Services- Housekeeping ( Wednesday thru Sunday; 7:00am - 4:00pm)

About the role

The Cleveland Museum of Art seeks a qualified full-time Building Services staff member.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and polishing light fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Cleaning galleries, classrooms, offices, hallways, lobbies, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, lounges, and other work areas as assigned.
• Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors.
• Cleaning rugs and carpets.
• Dusting furniture and equipment. Polishing metalwork.
• Washing walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Washing windows, door panels, and sills.
• Emptying wastebaskets.
• Transporting trash and waste to disposal area.
• Cleaning bathrooms and replenishing supplies.
• Assisting with museum special events as needed. Setting up and taking down tables and chairs; emptying trash containers; and cleaning area before and after event takes place. Remaining on call throughout an event in case services are needed.
• Moving office furniture and equipment as needed.
• Performing other special projects as assigned by Group Leader or Supervisor of Building Services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to operate cleaning equipment, such as buffers, strippers, and carpet cleaners.
• Prior knowledge of cleaning products and materials helpful.

Qualifications

Hours of work: 40 hours per week; (Wednesday thru Sunday working 7:00am -4:00pm)

Hourly rate: $18.25
