About the Role
The Building Service Foreman will provide field or "job area" supervision for Building Service Workers assigned to Campus Housing.
Responsibilities
- Complete an assigned schedule daily.
- Assign, control, and inspect the work/work checklists to be performed by Building Service employees, including Building Service Workers and/or student BS Aides, ensuring that work rules, protocols, and procedures are followed.
- Ensure departmental cleaning standards are met and/or improved; direct corrective measures when needed and make recommendations for further improvements.
- Assess cleaning needs of assigned area(s) and manage workforce output accordingly.
- Establish and maintain appropriate relationships and communication with other housekeeping personnel, residence life staff, and residents affected by and concerned with custodial services; conduct performance evaluations.
- Counsel staff in areas of required improvement and participate in disciplinary processes as necessary.
- Assist in the testing and evaluation of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
- Inventory, secure, request, and distribute cleaning supplies and direct movement of equipment.
- Inspect and direct minor housekeeping equipment repairs.
- Participate in strategic planning for facilities needs related to staffing levels and future projects.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Three (3) years (36 months) of experience in building custodial work.
- Illinois residency required within 180 days of employment.
Pay
$28.50 / hour
Schedule
Monday, Thursday – Sunday, 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM (evenings)
