Building Science Project Engineer - Early Career
About the role
Partner is seeking full-time Project Assessors to complete and finalize specific project tasks according to deadlines and within budget, completing Property Condition Assessments as assigned by the Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Project research (historical, regulatory, etc.)
- Communication with client and subject site representatives
- Conducting appropriate site reconnaissance
- Data compilation and organization
- Report authoring
- Preparation of quality supporting documents (site figures, appendices, etc.)
- Other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager associated with report deliverable schedule and plan
- Complete specific project tasks as directed by the Project Manager
- Conduct project research as applicable to the scope of work (historical, regulatory, etc.)
- Data compilation and organization
- Conducting site reconnaissance
- Technical report authoring
- Preparation of quality supporting report documents/files
- Effectively communicate project progress and issues with the Project Manager
- Maintain communication with team members throughout the project
- Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and milestones to ensure project progress status is on schedule
- Provide solid recommendations and solutions to the Project Manager and clients, while understanding the assessment’s potential impact on the transaction process
- Identify and resolve issues with projects
- Deliver appropriate progress reports (verbally or by e-mail), and recommendations to the Project Manager and Client
- Coverage of project scope
- Coordinate and respond to requests for changes in project scope
- Communicate report delivery instructions to the Project Coordinator
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills (internal and external)
- Prioritization and management of multiple projects
- Proven ability to successfully deliver a quality product on time
- Exceptional writing skills
- Cultivate strong relationships within a team
- Understand concepts of building component life cycles, system condition evaluation, replacement costs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Corel, and Excel
- Strong skills in observation, deduction, and reasoning
- Knowledge of civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering, including construction and maintenance of structures and systems
- Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Fair Housing Act
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in an engineering discipline
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in environmental or engineering consulting
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak & comprehend English
- Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone
- Requires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout the work shift
- Requires the ability to climb a ladder
Compensation
Salary range: $55,000 - $65,000. This is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. The pay scale for this role considers a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note, the disclosed pay scale estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic location where the position may be filled. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive bonus program which is dependent on various factors, including, but not limited to individual and organizational performance.
