Primary Responsibilities

  • Promotes a safe working environment for all employees, visitors, and partners.
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs equipment in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation for all equipment, including asset tracking, maintenance tracking, and inspections.
  • Collaborates with site leadership to maintain and repair equipment to minimize downtime, troubleshoot issues, and escalate problems.
  • Collaborates with the Quality Assurance team.
  • Complies with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Safe Quality Food (SQF), and regulatory policies and practices.
  • Fulfills health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintains Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs), such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Serves as the primary contact for maintenance vendors and partners.
  • Prioritizes work to minimize downtime, reduce waste, and manage costs.
  • Collaborates with the Senior Manager, Facility to adapt to changes in production (e.g., increased demand, new products, changes in procedures).
  • Completes and documents all daily checklist items, including cleaning/sanitation.
  • Trains employees on the safe operation of equipment as needed.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on all facility and equipment needs.
  • Maintains fleet vehicles.
  • Maintains the appearance and upkeep of facilities within lease requirements.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

  • Strong mechanical aptitude required.
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing equipment, including processing and packaging.
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and pneumatic systems.
  • Fabrication and welding skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to read owner's manuals, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  • Able to utilize spreadsheets and databases to plan and track work.
  • Strong initiative and the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) operations and maintenance knowledge required.
  • Knowledge of conveyor systems, safety equipment, and safety standards.
  • Able to work as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Three to five years of experience in a similar manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Good Manufacturing Practices certification preferred.
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing and warehousing environment.
  • Experience working with fleet vehicles.
  • Prior project and vendor management experience preferred.
  • Electrician license preferred.
