About the role

The City of Little Rock seeks a Building Maintenance Technician II to join our team. This position performs and supervises duties related to carpentry, repair, maintenance, and remodeling of City buildings and facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform carpentry tasks such as framing, drywall installation, painting, and plumbing repairs.
  • Maintain and repair HVAC systems, electrical components, and other building systems.
  • Supervise and train other maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Respond to emergency calls on nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED equivalency, or vocational-technical coursework in building trades or a related field.
  • At least four (4) years of experience in carpentry or related building trades, including at least two (2) years of experience in commercial building maintenance or a related field.
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License.
  • Able and willing to respond to emergency calls during nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Personal computer experience.
