BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I (2nd Shift)

About the role
The Building Maintenance Technician I position requires routine maintenance on building interior and exterior, including assembly, furniture/equipment/material moves, minor electrical, plumbing, and general labor. The role involves interacting with vendors and contractors for necessary repairs and emergencies. Tasks include maintaining a schedule of maintenance, ensuring safety, and completing documentation accurately.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine maintenance on building interior and exterior
- Handles assembly, furniture/equipment/material moves, minor electrical, plumbing, and general labor
- Safely uses hand and power tools
- Communicates with vendors and contractors for necessary repairs and emergencies
- Maintains a schedule of maintenance and next service dates
- Works in an organized and safe manner, recognizing and addressing unsafe situations
- Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of self and others in the building
- Completes and maintains accurate documentation related to assigned tasks
- May be assigned tasks outside the scope of this job description
Requirements
- Maintain awareness and understanding of documents published in the BMS Library, with specific competency in general and related field documents
- Required skills in decision making, time management, customer/client focus, and attention to detail
- Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb all day
- Frequently lifts and/or moves items over 35 pounds
- Self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised
- Reading, writing, and general math skills
- Able to work effectively in a group (team) environment
- Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Willingness to work flexible hours
- High school diploma or GED equivalent

Work Environment
This position is located in an office and manufacturing floor environment. It is not eligible for remote work.
