Building Maintenance - Days
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on production equipment to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and minor hydraulic issues on industrial sewing machines, automated fabric cutting systems, heat shrink ovens/gas-powered heating equipment, and material handling systems.
- Diagnose equipment failures and perform root cause analysis.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production interruptions.
- Install, adjust, and test new equipment or upgrades.
- Maintain facility systems including lighting, HVAC support, air compressors, plumbing repairs, electrical troubleshooting, doors, docks, and building infrastructure.
- Perform general repairs and upkeep throughout the facility.
- Aid in contractor coordination and outside service providers when needed.
- Complete scheduled PM tasks accurately and on time.
- Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and repair documentation.
- Track recurring equipment issues and recommend improvements.
- Support spare parts inventory and communicate parts needs.
Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and company policies.
- Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Identify opportunities to improve machine reliability and maintenance processes.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with industrial sewing machine repair.
- Experience with CNC systems and automated cutting equipment.
- Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting.
- Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
- Experience with CMMS or maintenance tracking systems, MaintainX a plus.
- Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in manufacturing environments with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to work safely around moving machinery and production equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical degree, certification, or equivalent maintenance experience.
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience in manufacturing, upholstery, furniture, textile, or automated production environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience reading technical manuals, schematics, and drawings.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
