Position Purpose
The Building Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of assigned buildings and facilities. This role includes performing routine inspections, repairs, and general upkeep to ensure a clean, safe, and operational environment. Tasks may involve plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC maintenance, cemetery maintenance, and groundskeeping. The Building Maintenance Worker will follow maintenance schedules, promptly address emergency repairs, and work with contractors as needed to complete specialized repairs.
Job Requirements
- Valid Colorado Driver's License, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to pass a background and MVR check with results that are acceptable to the City of Rifle.
- Ability to pass Rifle PD NCIC/CCIC background allowing unescorted access to the facility.
- Ability to work on call, rotating shifts, some nights, weekends, and holidays.
- One year of experience in routine building including basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry experience.
