Building Inspector, Rental

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building codes, zoning regulations, and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve building plans according to local building codes and regulations.
• Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards.
• Enforce zoning laws and regulations to ensure compliance with land use policies.
• Provide technical guidance to contractors and developers on building code requirements.
• Respond to complaints and inquiries from the public regarding building and zoning issues.
• Keep abreast of changes in building codes and regulations through continuing education.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection or similar field.
• Knowledge of local building codes and zoning regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Experience with computer software such as AutoCAD or similar drafting tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Pay

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience.

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
