Building Inspector II - Capital Project

Essential Functions

Performs skilled work in support of capital project managers during design and construction of vertical capital improvement projects to ensure compliance with International Building codes, Ordinances, Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Specifications, Survey, Zoning Codes, and Design Review Stipulations in the management of capital projects of the Transportation and Infrastructure Department.

Requires and applies International Code Council / International Conference of Building Officials (ICC/ICBO) Certifications in at least three of the four disciplines, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or building construction.

Tracks construction progress against pay requests and enforces City of Scottsdale building standards and quality standards specified.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Work involves exposure to dust, fumes, noise, chemicals, and other hazards associated with construction work.

Selection Process

Education

Applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to participate in a selection process that may include a panel interview. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening that may include:

  • Drug Screen
  • 39-Month Motor Vehicle Department Records Check
