Building Inspector I, II or III

About the role

The role involves inspecting buildings and structures to ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations. This includes examining electrical systems, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, and structural integrity.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and structures to ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.
• Examine electrical systems, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Assess structural integrity and identify potential hazards.
• Issue permits and make recommendations for improvements based on inspections.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to property owners and contractors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in construction or related field.
• Experience with basic building inspection tools and equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
• Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
