Building Inspector 2 On Call

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans and ensure they comply with local building codes and regulations.
• Inspect buildings during construction phases to ensure adherence to approved plans and safety standards.
• Issue permits and maintain records of all issued permits.
• Enforce building codes and regulations through inspections and investigations.
• Provide technical guidance and training to contractors and developers.
• Respond to complaints and inquiries regarding building code compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Experience with computer software such as AutoCAD or similar drafting tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Pay

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually.
