About the role
An established and highly respected engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Building Envelope Consultant to join its growing Boston team. This role offers the opportunity to work on some of the region's most complex and challenging building enclosure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage small to medium-sized projects and support larger, complex assignments.
- Perform building envelope evaluations, assessments, and forensic investigations.
- Investigate and diagnose building enclosure failures, moisture intrusion, and water leakage issues.
- Conduct field testing and condition assessments of roofing, waterproofing, curtain wall, window, and façade systems.
- Prepare repair and rehabilitation designs for building envelope components.
- Perform site inspections and document existing conditions.
- Review construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Provide construction administration and contractor support throughout project delivery.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, owners, and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Mentor and develop junior technical staff.
- Support expert witness and litigation-related consulting assignments when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Registered Architect (RA) license required.
- 5+ years of experience in building envelope consulting, building enclosure engineering, architecture, or related construction consulting.
- Strong understanding of: Façades and wall cladding systems, Roofing systems, Waterproofing and below-grade systems, Windows and curtain walls, Building enclosure performance.
- Strong project management and client-facing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with historic preservation, curtain wall design, rope access, or forensic investigations is considered advantageous.

Pay
Compensation will be commensurate with experience, licensure, technical expertise, and project management responsibilities. Range: $95,000 - $150,000+
