About the Role
This is a skilled trades/technician position within the Clark County School District's Maintenance department.
Responsibilities
- Perform skilled maintenance and repair work on district facilities, equipment, and systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and district standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including work orders and inventory logs.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
- Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles required for job duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Nevada driver’s license.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in skilled trades (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, or general maintenance).
- Certification or licensure in a relevant trade (e.g., EPA 608 for HVAC, journeyman electrician, or plumbing license) may be required depending on the specific role.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.
