About the role
A state-of-the-art facility serving the life sciences industry, featuring top amenities like a fitness center and world-class cafeteria, seeks a Building Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and repair building system operations including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.
- Support, provide preventive maintenance, and perform repairs on equipment and systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Maintain an energy management program to ensure systems operate efficiently.
- Implement and manage a preventive maintenance program to ensure machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.
- Perform emergency repairs as needed.
- Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Review and inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure proper operation.
- Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of job disciplines.
- Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.
- Work to build consensus and convince others to reach agreements.
- Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
- Explain difficult or sensitive information.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
- Universal CFC certification is preferred.
- Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
- Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
- Meet the physical requirements of the role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Sophisticated math skills to calculate financial-related figures.

Schedule
Day shift with flex hours, or night shift from 6pm to 6am, offering shift premium pay.
