About the Role

As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will monitor, maintain, and repair building system operations and performance in areas including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, focusing on support, preventive maintenance, and equipment repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
  • Keep facility and building systems compliant with applicable standards.
  • Comply with all codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
  • Maintain an energy management program to ensure systems operate efficiently.
  • Assist with implementing a preventive maintenance program to extend the life of building machinery and systems.
  • Perform emergency repairs as needed.
  • Follow departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Review inspections of building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share expertise within your discipline and across job functions.
  • Lead by example, modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE’s RISE values.
  • Build consensus and persuade others to reach agreements.
  • Impact customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information effectively.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Universal CFC certification is preferred. Additional certifications/licenses may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
  • Meet physical requirements, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on analyzing multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to explore new perspectives on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills, including calculating percentages, fractions, and financial-related figures.
