Building Engineer - 2nd Shift - Golden Valley, MN
About the role
This role operates and performs preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial equipment and large building systems such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, HVAC/R, Chilled Water Systems, Boilers, Air Handling Units, Rooftop Units, Building Automation Systems, Fire System Controls and other building systems to ensure optimal conditions.
Responsibilities
- Ensure facility is in a safe operating condition; conduct preventative and reactive maintenance; and resolve immediate operational and building safety concerns
- Regularly inspect and conduct preventive tests to ensure proper working condition of equipment and overall operational infrastructure
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair or replace failures
- Coordinate maintenance work provided by vendor partners; both for equipment warranty, preventive and corrective work; inspect completed repairs to ensure proper operation
- Support or lead special projects related to improvement of building operations and efficiencies
- HVAC troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
- DDC trouble shooting and repair
- Refrigeration troubleshooting and system repairs
- Basic knowledge and use of Building Automation for equipment monitoring and controls
- Basic plumbing knowledge with ability to complete repairs such as plumbing fixture, drain maintenance, and valve repair/replacement
- Inspection and Maintenance of café/kitchen equipment
- Manage vendors and maintenance of elevators, fire life safety devices, UPS and other systems
- Access Door and Overhead Door repair/adjustment
- Obtain and compare estimates for work to be performed by outside vendors
- Ensure that all customer complaints are handled professionally and in a timely manner
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
Completion of HVAC/R or Facilities Maintenance program from accredited school
2 years’ experience in facilities/maintenance role or similar work on HVAC/refrigeration equipment
Universal CFC Certification
Basic computer proficiency (Word, Outlook, Smartphone)
Independent and collaborative work, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work at heights using ladders or similar tools
Ability to lift, push, pull or move a minimum of 50 pounds
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
Universal CFC Certification
Basic computer proficiency (Word, Outlook, Smartphone)

Skills
Maintain Electrician License
Second Class C Minnesota State Boiler License
Knowledge of work order process or management tool
Benefits
The salary range for this position is $57,700.00 - $79,500.00 / Annually. Additional benefits include health benefits, retirement and financial wellbeing, time off programs, wellbeing support and perks.
