Responsibilities

  • Technical project leadership, including applying sound engineering judgment and a deep understanding of governing codes, design guidelines, and industry practices;
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary project teams across WJE;
  • Leveraging your expertise for a variety of building envelope systems and materials;
  • Preparing technically excellent client deliverables;
  • Providing high-quality reviews and oversight of work by others;
  • Self-performing and training others in hands-on field work and diagnostic testing;
  • Project management, including project scoping and proposal writing;
  • Assembling and managing project teams;
  • Maintaining project schedules, budgets, and financials;
  • Managing client expectations and deliverables;
  • Mentorship, including exemplifying WJE’s culture of shared destiny and knowledge sharing to better the team around you;
  • Contributions to local and company-wide objectives, including proactively fostering new and existing client relationships in pursuit of project work you are excited about; engaging the next generation of WJE professionals; collaborating with practice leaders on knowledge-sharing and training initiatives; and participating in industry organizations, conferences, and technical committees.

Qualifications

  • Registered Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE); other relevant professional certifications (e.g., RBEC, RRC, RWC, REWC) will be considered with significant relevant expertise;
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in architecture, architectural engineering, building science, civil engineering, or related field; master’s degree preferred;
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in building enclosure consulting, including technical and project management, with demonstrated expertise in the evaluation, diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, and detailing of various building envelope, roofing, and waterproofing systems, particularly at the interface of different systems, assemblies, or components.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel and attend meetings at various office, field, and construction sites;
  • Ability to perform inspections of buildings and other structures, both visually and with instruments;
  • Ability to safely work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a variety of occupationally hazardous locations, including outdoors with exposure to temperature extremes;
  • Ability to safely use and/or operate ladders, scaffolds, lifts, and other access equipment;
  • Ability to lift and carry materials, tools, and other heavy equipment up to 50 lbs.

  • Base salary is determined through consideration of a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role while remaining mindful of our commitment to internal equity.
  • A good faith estimate of the annual starting base salary (gross) is in the following range: $101,550.00 - $169,250.00.
