Building Construction Labourer – Immediate Start

Sustainable® is a small design and construction company with over 40 years’ experience delivering award-winning, design-led sustainable homes across Brisbane and south-east Queensland.

About the role

We present an opportunity for you to develop and share your skills as the main support to our Sustainable® Construction Team.

• Practical skill and knowledge as main support to site carpenters and occasional sub-contractors
• General building labouring duties assisting team members with carpentry projects (loading and unloading materials, digging holes, cleaning sites, retrieving and preparing site equipment, site works required for site prep and set out, using power tools and machinery as required, concreting, miscellaneous labouring works as requested, etc.)
• Operate company vehicles, including utes and small-medium trucks

You will report to the company CEO or the authorised site supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Support site carpenters and sub-contractors with practical tasks
• Assist with general building labouring duties on carpentry projects
• Operate company vehicles as required

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport (preferably a ute)
• Basic trade tools (a list will be provided if invited for a meeting)
• Valid White Card (or eligibility to obtain one)
• (Preferred, not required immediately) Hold a minimum light rigid (LR) and/or medium rigid (MR) licence or be eligible to acquire one

Qualifications

Experience in the building/construction and/or landscaping field, along with a strong practical understanding, common sense, mechanical mind, and task-oriented mindset will be best suited for this position.

We are ideally looking for individuals working towards a long-term relationship who are keen to work within a team environment to learn and contribute.

Schedule

Consistent weekly workload of a minimum of 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday (no weekends).
