Building Commissioning Agent
Key Responsibilities
- Oversight of installation functional testing and verification of building systems to ensure they meet design intent and performance criteria
- Review of design documents and specifications to anticipate potential issues and contribute to quality assurance
- Coordination with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders to schedule and conduct commissioning activities
- Documentation of commissioning results, preparation of detailed reports, and tracking of deficiency resolutions
- Training and support to building operators on system functionality and maintenance requirements
- Ensuring compliance with project requirements, industry standards, codes, and sustainability requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- 20+ years of experience in building commissioning or related field
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ASHRAE Guideline 0, 1.1, and 202
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and work independently
- CXA Certification or equivalent certification required

Overwatch Construction Management is seeking a Building Commissioning Agent to join their team. The successful candidate will oversee the commissioning process of new and existing buildings to ensure operational efficiency, sustainability, and compliance with design specifications. The role requires close collaboration with design teams, contractors, and owners to verify that all building systems perform according to the project requirements and industry standards.
The salary range for this position is $135,000 - $145,000, with a project start date of July 1, 2026, and a project duration of 24 months. The position is full-time and on-site, and applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
