Building Automation Technician
About the role
Assisting site Leadership in the execution of all daily operations for the facilities team. Monitoring and adjusting the building HVAC and mechanical systems, acknowledging critical building alarms, and taking appropriate corrective actions and responding after hours should repairs be needed. Providing a level of expertise in performing preventive and corrective maintenance to a wide variety of industrial or commercial facility HVAC equipment. Identifying and correcting any safety-related issues and performing independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures. Operating, maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, chillers, rooftop AHU’s, split systems, compressors, refrigeration, and other mechanical equipment as needed. Utilizing the building automation system to track building conditions and the operation of facilities equipment. Utilizing strong mechanical and electrical skills to complete assignments. Performing preventive maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems as scheduled from a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Responding and providing service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards. Performing the functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and wearing PPE as required. Operating various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions. Complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Responsibilities

- Utilizing building automation systems and CMMS for maintenance.
- Responding to and providing service on work orders.
- Ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Using measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments for energy efficiency.
- Complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of technical experience in any skilled trade.
- Ability to obtain a security access badge at the client's location.
- Willingness to work overtime, various shifts, and weekends.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- United States citizenship or Permanent Resident.
- Physical requirements: Regularly lift to 50 lbs, climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding, perform repetitive motions, walk extensively throughout the building during shift.
- Communication skills: Regularly communicate on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings, and presentations.
Qualifications
- Technical degree preferred.
- Experience in the operation of building management systems.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance Programs.
- Demonstrated technical background in a pharmaceutical or hospital facilities environment.

Pay
$32.00 - $36.00 per hour.
Schedule
